Face ID / Touch ID doesn't work for me

The first thing to note is that Face ID/Touch ID is a Pro feature. You get to try out Pro features for 3 months, so you should check that you’re on the Pro version. You’ll see an Upgrade bar at the bottom of your screen if you’re on Free Trial period or after that expires.

If you’re on  Pro you can turn Face ID/Touch ID on/off in the Database Maintenance/Operations screen, which is accessed via the little Tool/Spanner icon in the bottom right corner when you unlock your database.

If you’re still having trouble, it’s possible Face ID/Touch ID has not been enabled for Strongbox. This is something Strongbox asks for when it’s first used, and it’s possible you didn’t allow it initially or missed the prompt.

To check that you should:

  1. Go to your iPhone Settings
  2. Face ID/Touch ID & Passcode
  3. Enter your Passcode.
  4. Under Use Face ID/Touch ID For, select Other Apps.

Make sure Strongbox is enabled in there.
