This is usually because either iOS Face/Touch ID has been disabled at the device level, or because the Strongbox Touch/Face ID setting has been disabled.
NB: The first thing to note is that Face ID/Touch ID is a Pro feature. You get to try out Pro features for 3 months, so you should check that you’re on the Pro version.
Is Face ID/Touch ID enabled for the Device?
Ensure you can use and unlock your device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac) with Face/Touch ID. It is an absolute prerequisite for using Touch/Face ID with Strongbox.
Does Strongbox have system permissions? (iOS Only)
Face ID/Touch ID can be enabled or disabled on a per App basis on iOS. Check that Strongbox is enabled:
- Tap Face ID/Touch ID & Passcode
- Enter your Passcode.
- Under Use Face ID/Touch ID For tap Other Apps.
- Make sure Strongbox is enabled
Is Face ID/Touch ID enabled in Strongbox?
On iOS
- Unlock your Database
- Tap Settings (Top left Gear icon) > Face/Touch ID & PIN > Switch ON
On macOS
- Unlock your Database
- Click Database > Databases Settings menu item
- Click on the Touch ID tab > Switch ON
If that doesn’t help try restarting your device and making sure Face ID/Touch ID is otherwise working across iOS.
